Women's Instructional Clinics ~ Winter 2018

What is Ultimate Frisbee?

Ultimate Frisbee is a high energy, non-contact team sport. It combines elements of many different sports including soccer, basketball, and football. Ultimate is played on a rectangular shaped field with end zones shaped like football end zones. Each team consists of seven players. The disc is passed from teammate to teammate (there is no running/walking with the disc) until somebody catches the disc in the end zone for a score.

What are Women's Instructional Clinics?

These three sessions will cover basic throwing techniques, putting on a mark, understanding the force, horizontal and vertical stacks, cutting deep, and decoding lots of crazy ultimate lingo! The format for the night will be a combination of warmup, drills, Q & A sessions, and scrimmage.

Who can sign up?

Women only! This series of clinics is geared toward beginner and intermediate players. This include brand new players as well as players who simply want to gain a better understanding of the game. You do not need a team to sign up. Teams will be formed to allow games to be played.

What do I need to play?

Bring sneakers or non-metal cleats and clothing comfortable for running. It is essential that you bring a white shirt and a dark-colored shirt each week, so we can divide into teams. Please make sure you are dressed warmly enough that you can stay warm while we explain drills, rules, and strategy. Bring a water bottle to make sure you stay hydrated. Every brand new player will receive a disc, but all players should try and bring a disc to each session (preferably an official USA Ultimate Ultrastar 175g and not a Wham-o).
